All Aboard the Ocelot

The Hacking family are inspiring sailors. Comprised of two adult children, Christopher & Amanda, who now only join the voyage part time, and two parents, Sue & Jon, this family have been sailing around the world aboard their much-loved yacht the Ocelot for many, many years.

As true veterans of the waves – and the nomadic sailing, globe-trotting lifestyle – the family’s blog is a rich resource full of ideas, information, inspiration and much more besides. Sue writes incredibly skilfully on provisioning, while Jon’s section sheds light on the more technological aspects of sailing, along with memories from his 1980s days on the water. Well worth a visit.

Escape on the LAHO Wind

And if the Hacking’s adventures aren’t enough escapism for you, why not visit the wonderful world of Jereme, Kim, Oliver the dog and the Laho Wind as they sail off on fabulous sun-drenched adventures. These guys are pretty hot on their sailing stuff too, there’s lots of interesting technical stuff to be found on site (along with plenty of envy-prompting photos and videos of tropical destinations), including the full spec of their beautiful boat. Climb aboard for a 10 minute getaway.
